Historical momento to Esports Education in Amapa, Brasil

Historic Partnership Brings Educational Esports to Amapá's Schools, Making Brazil a Latin American Pioneer

In a groundbreaking initiative, the State of Amapá, in collaboration with the World Esports Consortium (WESCO) and FITGMR, has become the first in Latin America to officially integrate esports into its educational system. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between WESCO, represented by its CEO and Chairman, Dr. Daniel Cossi, and FITGMR, represented by CEO Kristin Anderson, under the leadership of Senator Randolfe Rodrigues. This visionary partnership aims to introduce the Educational Esports System to public state schools, with potential expansion to municipal, federal, and private schools across Amapá.

The program is set to benefit children and teenagers by promoting esports not only as a competitive practice but also as a multifaceted educational tool. Students will have the opportunity to explore various roles in esports, from athletes and coaches to commentators and analysts. In addition, the initiative emphasizes the importance of both mental and physical health, incorporating body-mental wellness programs tailored for young esports enthusiasts. This holistic approach will foster a new generation of well-rounded individuals prepared to thrive in the rapidly growing esports ecosystem.

Kristin Anderson echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of introducing esports to the educational system. "FITGMR is proud to be part of this historic moment. Esports offers unique learning experiences, and through our collaboration, we aim to ensure that students in Amapá not only excel in gaming but also prioritize their well-being."

Senator Randolfe Rodrigues, whose mandate made this collaboration possible, expressed his enthusiasm for the project. "This initiative opens new doors for our students, combining technology, education, and sports in a way that prepares them for future opportunities in the global digital economy."

With this MOU, Amapá is pioneering the educational integration of esports in Brazil, positioning the country as a leader in Latin America’s esports educational landscape. This milestone marks a new chapter in how technology and sports can converge to shape the future of education.
